Picked up Peter Zumthor’s new book, Atmospheres, the other day. Its aight; essentially a transcript of a lecture delivered in 2003. What caught my eye however is that the Bruder Klaus Chapel is to now have a floor of cast lead… Ancient readers may recall that at his lecture in Sydney, Zumthor claimed that the floor of the chapel was to be solid silver. Nice to know that even Chapels bordering on the pagan in the Swiss hills have to face hardcore value engineering solutions.
