In an attempt to sneak my way into the architects ghetto, yesterday morning was spent looking for apartments to rent in Elizabeth Bayand after this horrendous ordeal, I believe it is fair to say that real estate agents are lying scum. Of all the supposedly Bright, Sun-Filled, Spacious apartments I went to look at, every single one of them was dark and small with the only window facing bricked-in light wells. I am sure that the light and sun filled apartments do exist though, as I have seen them from the water, from the park, their large windows allowing the gleaming light to penetrate their rooms, stopping mould from growing on their walls, bathing coffee plungers with rays cosmic only microseconds after they have been reflected off the masts of yachts in the bay. I am not sure how to get to these apartments though. Maybe there are tunnels? Perhaps they are located on Level 7 1/2? Click your heels three times and wish on a star and you are magically transported there? All I know is that the stairways I walked up and the doors I opened certainly didn’t lead anywhere pretty…
In any case, the thought of more saturdays spent walking from hovel to hovel is a little upsetting so if anyone hears of one of these apartments with the sunlight, let me know… and don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone where it is, it can be our little secret…
